Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Cambridge Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services. Elder Bill Currier officiated. Burial was in Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the John Michael Memorial Fund.
John was born March 10, 1973, in Moline, the son of William A. and Elizabeth A. (Carmen) Michael. He was educated in Moline schools and graduated in 1991. He received his bachelor’s degree in history from Augustana College, Rock Island, and his master’s degree in business administration from St. Ambrose University, Davenport. His marriage to Lenna D. Stevens took place on Aug. 3, 1996, in Glenview, in the Chicago Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She survives.
John worked as a cashier at the Dollar General in Cambridge, and was a stay-at-home dad. He in Rochester, New York, served from 1993 to 1995 on a two-year church mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Those surviving are his wife, Lenna; his children, Zoe Dana Michael, Alexis Carmen Michael, Ava Marie Michael, Quinten John Michael, Owen Lyle Michael, Evan Robert Michael and Stacy Lenna Michael, all of Cambridge; his parents, William and Elizabeth Michael of Moline; and his siblings, Lyle (Evaet) Michael of Tacoma, Wash., Robert (Heather) Michael of Swansea, Curtis Michael of Cheyenne, Wyo., Daryl (Emily) Michael of Lander, Wyo., Brenda (William) Johnson of Silvis, Wayne Michael of Moline and Marianne (Ryan) Jackson of Bloomington.
His grandparents preceded him in death.
