Margery Ann Edwall Todd Carroll (Marge) was born in Galva, Illinois on Jauaury 9, 1933 to Bertha and Arthur Edwall. Marge grew up in Galva with her sister Joyce Edwall Davis. The sisters treasured their time in this small town.
Marge passed away on May 1, 2019, and Joyce passed in November 2018
After graduating high school, Marge went to Washington D.C. to work for the FBI. She went there with her BFF, Marilyn Jones, and both made memories to fill a lifetime. The two traveled to Italy later in their lives and had a blast enjoying each other’s company once again.
Marge married Warfield Todd in September 1953. Warfield had a son, Chuck. The three moved to Denver, Colorado. They were joined by the birth of a daughter, Janice in 1958. Joyce followed her sister to Colorado and married Ray Davis. Grandma Edwall moved to Colorado to be near her daughters and grandchildren.
The families bought a small cabin in Evergreen, Colorado to enjoy on weekends and vacations. The cabin was named “Slatriders Chalet”. It remained with Marge and Joyce for many wonderful years. Marge loved to entertain at the cabin, and many great memories were created when friends and relatives visited.
After her divorce to Warfield, Marge married Fritz Carroll in 1971. Fritz had 3 sons, Paul, Mark and Peter and a daughter, Cris. The newly merged family made many trips in the family VW bus, sometimes taking the dogs and cats with them for tent camping at Lake Marvine. Marge and Fritz also traveled to Europe, Japan and Mexico. When Fritz and Marge retired, they bought an RV and traveled all over the US and Canada.
Marge had a passion for animals, both domestic and wildlife. She always had dogs and cats.
At the cabin, Marge fed the birds, squirrels, raccoon, foxes and the occasional deer and elk.
After Fritz passed in July of 2011, Marge moved to Fresno to be near her daughter Jan and husband Rod Stevens. She spent her time in Fresno making new friends and playing bridge.
You are missed, Mom, Lady, Marge
