Nunamaker strikes out 14

Sean Nunamaker was given the lead before he got the ball and it worked out well as he guided Ridgeview to an 8-1 win over Judah Christian Academy Thursday.
    Nunamaker knew what to do with his good fortune as he struck out 14 and allowed just three hits in a 103-pitch complete game.
    The Mustangs got their first run in the first inning when Jalen Duncan singled home Justin Givens. Ridgeview made it 3-0 in the third with two more runs.
    Tucker Maupin got the the ball rolling with a leadoff triple and Givens walked before Matthew Nunamaker and Duncan each singled. Nunamaker’s hit drove in the two runs.
    Judah Christian scored in the bottom of the third, but that was it.
    Ridgeview put the game way with a five-run fifth inning. Matthew Nunamaker singled with one out and three next three batters each reached as the Mustangs began pulling away.
    Nunamaker scored on Billy Tay’s base hit, and Sean Nunamaker followed with a hit that plated courtesy runner Coby Windle. Tay scored on Jakob Sutton’s base hit, and Sutton came home three batters later on an error.
    Matthew Nunamaker and Duncan each had two hits and a run batted in while RJ Benefiel collected three hits. Maupin had two hits and Tay and Sean Nunamaker each had a hit and RBI. Sutton drove in two runs and singled.
