    Hayden Carls buried a 3-pointer in the waning seconds and Fieldcrest garnered fifth place of the Colmone Classic Tournament Saturday.
    The Knights bumped off Pontiac 60-58 in a hotly contested battle that concluded with Carls’ game-winner. PTHS was clinging to a 58-57 lead before Carls’ dagger hit the mark.
    Jaxon Cusac-McKay paced Fieldcrest with 18 points and 4 assists. Carls added 12 points and Derek May checked in with 10 markers. Matt Lorton scored 7 points, Garrett Nix netted 6 and Ryan Naas chalked up 3 points. Cory Land and Clay Wells had 2 points apiece.
    Joe Murphy led the Pontiac (4-7) with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Ryan Weir tossed in 13 points while grabbing 5 boards and Max Gschwendtner hit for 6 points. Payton Amm and Ben Schuler each scored 5 points while Clayton Miller added 4 and Cobi Parra had 3.
    Pontiac’s Joe Murphy and Fieldcrest’s Derek May were named to the all-tournament team.
    SOPHS: Pontiac lost a heartbreaker at the sophomore level with a 47-45 loss to Putnam County. The Indians spotted the Panthers a 20-5 lead in the first quarter and fought back to trail 36-34 by the start of the fourth frame.
    Mason Monahan had 19 points for the Indians and Matt Murphy scored 14.
    FROSH: On Monday, Pontiac lost a 60-32 decision to Mahomet-Seymour. Wyatt Griffith had 15 points while Peyton Cheek, Colohan Hagan and Camdyn Friedman each had 3 points. Kodi Davis, Trey Duck and Casey Gesell tallied 2 points apiece and Walker Gerdes and Jake Bauknecht had 1 point each.
